Colorado Summer

Thanks to Jim and Gayle for the new header photo!

While I spent most of the summer in Salida, staying with and meeting up with JeanneKim, Randy, Barbara and Ron and Jim and Gayle and a few others who don't have blogs. I also spent some time in the Denver area.

While in Denver, I went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science with my friend Laura. The museum was larger and more impressive than I expected. I highly recommend it. I even took a few pictures.

I visited with other RVing friends while at the Westminster Elks and a few friends I'd known since before my RVing days, but I didn't take pictures.

While in Denver, my roommate from college, Alisa, flew out from Maine and spent a couple weeks with me. I didn't take any pictures then either, but here's one of us in Maine a couple years ago.

I also visited with Trish and Chip in Woodland Park. Their new house is now built and ready to be occupied. Finally!

They have a good bit more solar power than I have.

When I finally left Salida, I drove down to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve since I'd never been there before. There they have the highest sand dunes in North America. The dunes were impressive and the campground was very nice. Though not big rig friendly, there were some spaces that I could park nicely.

The view out my window at the campground.

The dunes in late afternoon.

Dolly and I enjoyed the campground. Oh, yea, Dolly is my new co-pilot.

And now, we've left Colorado and will be spending the next month or more in New Mexico. If I take some pictures and am not too lazy to upload them, I'll post from here too.

  1. Will put the museum on my to-do list. Thanks for sharing it.

  2. Great to catch up with your summer. I love the photos of Dolly I've seen - she's such a cutie! Nice picture of you both on your header, too. Hope to meet up with you guys in the next few months and see Dolly in person. :)

  3. Nice to have met you yesterday (28 Sept) Nancy. Happy travels :)
