Salida, CO

Another neat little Colorado mountain town.

Parked at about 8500' elevation, the temperatures are ideal. It's pretty quiet up here on BLM land, though we did have some unexpected visitors one day.

At the farmer's market we saw Carol, who we last saw at Elephant Butte State Park in NM last fall. She has a booth at the farmer's markets in both Salida and Buena Vista on the weekends. She makes and sells the most colorful cloth napkins (on the table) and pot holders (hanging above the table).

There was a festival going on and we watched the small home town parade go by the park where the farmer's market is held.

We'll probably be hanging out here a while.

  2. We've never been invaded by cattle there. Interesting. And I thought Arizona passed a law against free range grazing.
