Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Who doesn't love balloons?

This is my first time to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and it's been great!

I'm here with the Lazy Daze group and Saturday, a bunch of us walked over to the balloon field before sunrise and watched the balloons being inflated and ultimately lifting off. What a thrill to see HUNDREDS of balloons going up!

Inflating with hot air.

The mass ascension

Some special shapes

Sunday evening, we walked to the balloon field for the evening "Glow".

Sunday morning, the mass ascension was canceled due to wind, but took place on Monday morning, bright and early. I watched from my roof.

Some landed close by in the RV parking lot behind us.

This one landed in our Lazy Daze section.

Seeing so many balloons, and especially seeing them up close has been incredible. I highly recommend attending this balloon festival, which is the biggest one in the world, if you like balloons. But then, who doesn't like balloons?

  1. Can't possibly pick a favorite ~ Fantastic pictures!

  2. Looks like so much fun! I'm glad you went this year. :)

  3. Great balloon photos! Someday I'll get there.

  4. How beautiful and it looks like you had perfect weather. I've never stayed on the field. I bet that was really special.

  5. Nice report on the fiesta. I had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone. Glad I went.

  6. I had so much fun at the Balloon Fiesta last year, how great to see your pictures! Where are you going next? I'm still in Alaska, finishing packing up my houseful of stuff so I can sell the place in the spring. Plan to get back to Arizona next month and be on the road again for a while.
